Head Radical Pro – A Reinvented Classic

Since the first iteration of the Radical Pro arrived on the market in 1993, the Radical series has become an iconic line of rackets popular with both professionals and club players. The Radical Pro was first designed for Andre Agassi who was ushering in a new ‘punk rock’ attitude to the professional game and Head kept this attitude in mind when they eventually released the Radical Tour 630. Andre felt he could really express himself with this new racket and he thought the design perfectly matched his rebellious personality.

Head Graphene 360+ Radical Pro 2021

We’ve seen many different versions of the Radical Pro over the last 30 years and the new Head Graphene 360+ Radical Pro 2021 is perhaps the most refined update yet. The Radical series has always sought to provide creative, all-court players a delicate mix of control, power and spin. ‘No Shot You Can’t Play’ is the slogan behind the marketing campaign supporting the new Radical line and it’s pretty accurate. The new Graphene 360+ technology gives this Radical an enhance flex that makes it both powerful and stable upon impact with the ball.

In our playtests with this racket, we’ve found it to be extremely crisp and versatile. There’s no area of the court in which this racket doesn’t flourish; it’s stable from the baseline, powerful on serve, manoeuvrable at the net and reliable when attacking. Don’t be put off by the hefty 315g weight, the 315mm head light balance makes it relatively easy to swing. The increased weight around the head of the racket combined with the addition of sound grommets to increase string movement, makes this Radical Pro slightly more powerful than the previous generation.

Head Graphene 360+ Radical Pro 2021

We’ve already touched on the bold new colour scheme in our review of the Head Graphene 360+ Radical MP 2021 but I’ll say it again, it’s a winner. Head have really nailed some of their recent cosmetic changes to their racket lines and the new Radical design is a minimalist take on the now iconic Radical red.

If you’re an advanced player who enjoys creativity on court, chances are you’ll love this racket. It’s an incredibly versatile, comfortable players racket that performs well at the club level and on tour. We’ve just got some new stock so grab one while you can!
